Actim Partus is an immunochromatographic dipstick test based on monoclonal antibodies. It just detects a different, phosphorylated form of IGFBP-1 from decidua. As the cervix matures, the membrane layers detach from each other. The phosphorylated form of IGFBP-1 produced by decidual cells is then liberated and leaks into the cervix.
