 | Colorectal cancer develops slowly, within 7 to 12 years. And when the symptoms finally occur, nearly half the patients already have metastases. By that time their life expectancy has lowered considerably. With over half a million deaths a year, colorectal cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer mortality in the world. It also equally affects both men and women and its incidence is continually rising, partly due to fiber poor diets in the western hemisphere. Quick and easy way to detect occult fecal blood Before turning to costly and uncomfortable colonoscopy or sigmoidoscopy and X-ray examinations, you can always easily and reliably test whether occult fecal blood is present to indicate possible colorectal cancer or other gastrointestinal disease. The detection limit of 50 ìg/l corresponds to approximately 25–50 ìg of hemoglobin in 1g of feces, so you are able to detect even occult fecal blood. In addition, you do not need to be concerned about the hook effect with concentrations up to 0.5 g/l. Detects bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract Since feces do not normally contain measurable levels of blood, its presence implies bleeding in the gastrointestinal tract and raises the probability of colorectal disease. Positive result from the Actim Fecal Blood test therefore acts as an early telltale sign of the need for further examination.

 | Highly specific immediate results without dietary restrictions Actim Fecal Blood is an immunological dipstick test based on monoclonal antibodies against human hemoglobin. It is highly specific to human hemoglobin only, so no dietary restrictions are required. To speed the correct diagnosis, the test can be taken immediately without the need for a three-day diet. False results due to patient negligence are therefore minimized. The high specificity and the lack of dietary restrictions clearly differentiate Actim Fecal Blood from traditional guaiac tests. | | Convenient sample collection There is no need to take the feces samples in a hospital or medical center. The patient can simply do it at home by twisting the sampling stick in a feces sample, inserting the stick in to the buffer solution and shaking the tube. If required, the samples can be taken at various days and returned to the hospital or medical center simultaneously. The buffering solution holds the samples for up to one week. Fast and hygienic analysis Thanks to our patented test analysis method, you never have to handle the feces sample itself and you never even have to open the sample tube. Just perforate the cap of the test tube and insert the Actim Fecal Blood dipstick. Then slowly invert the tube upside down for approximately two seconds and return it back to upright position. Leave the tube on the table for ten minutes to develop, and the test is done. If two lines appear in the dipstick, the result is positive. If one line appears, the result is negative. It’s as quick, easy and hygienic as that. As the product can be stored at room temperature, it is always ready to use. |
