With its highly portable, lightweight and compact size, the Samsung IB10 can be used almost anywhere, from a moving ambulance to a hospital department. Samsung have even been awarded an IF award for the IB10’s outstanding portability and ergonomic, easy-to-use design. The 8-hour battery function as well as AC power option ensures consistent operation. The large 4.3-inch touch screen provides the user with clear graphical options, making navigation around the menu simple and user friendly. The ‘Simple One Step Procedure’ allows users to easily carry out a test and with the plasma being separated in the reagent disc, no sample preparation is needed.
The IB10 has been compared to laboratory systems and the results correlate highly, especially for Troponin, the preferred marker used to identify heart damage. Multiple testing ability is possible on the IB10, including the well-established tests - Troponin, NT pro BNP, Myoglobin, D Dimer and CK-MB. The analyser can easily perform up to three tests in 20 minutes. Results are displayed on the large LCD screen, as well as a print out. Calibration is “built-in” via a barcode on each disc, and QC is performed using a separate disc, ensuring that tests are carried out in the knowledge that results will be both reliable and accurate.
The IB10 provides medical professionals with the information needed to diagnose, treat and monitor critically ill patients. Results can be instantly sent from an ambulance to a mobile application at an emergency department, allowing teams to plan accordingly, prior to a patient arriving. The IB10 can be used in hospital central laboratories, critical care units and other centres where immediate patient care is provided. The impressive LABGEO Data Manager allows results to be accessed from a PC Application. Alternatively, results can be linked up to a HIS/LIS System. Multiple external devices are supported including a WiFi USB dongle, LAN connectivity and barcode scanner.
